Salon 2015

Salon

Opening

The 2015 edition of Salon was inaugurated on March 19 and will be open until April 19 in the public areas of the University of Milano-Bicocca, Building 6. The exhibition presents works from the best students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. With respect to past editions, in which Salon was held in locations specifically devoted to art exhibitions – public and private art galleries, museums, and halls of the Academy itself – the current edition shows about 100 artworks displayed inside the halls of the University of Milano-Bicocca. The intention is that of celebrating an agreement that sees the two institutions as partners in joint research and cultural development initiatives, and also the creation of the Brera-Bicocca Prize devoted to visual arts and supported by the association Big Size Art. Over the years Salon has grown into a prominent city appointment that attracts a large audience including art experts, collectors, and of course many young artists.

The decision of holding Salon 2015 in Bicocca is also part of a plan of the Rectors and the Scientific Committee of the two universities, which aims at revitalizing the University’s neighborhood, thus aiding other institutions also present in the territory, such as the Arcimboldi Theatre, Hangar Bicocca, and the Institute for the History of the Resistance and of Modern Society.
